Statutory Sick Pay for Employees
Easement For Employers
Employers who pay wages or their own sick pay which is as good as, or better than, the rate of SSP are no longer required to keep full Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) records. Therefore, a separate amount for SSP may not be shown on your pay slip. It may be in your interest to keep a record of any sickness you have and what medical evidence you have supplied to your employer. You should check that your employer is paying you at least as much as the current rate of SSP. The current weekly rate of SSP from April 2004 is £68.20.
