UK the Best Place for Business – Fact or Fiction?

A worthy aspiration but is it achievable?
Conservatives: “Our goal is simple: to make Britain the easiest and the best place in the world to set up and grow a business.”
Labour: “Labour’s aim is to make the UK the best country in the G20 in which to set up and run a business, and become one of the most attractive places in the world to invest.”
Liberal Democrats: “Our vision is simple we want Britain to be the location of choice for business.”
The three main political parties have ‘making the UK the best place/location for business’ as either a ‘goal’, ‘aim’ of ‘vision’.
These aspirations will no doubt be shared by other nations around the world, with the UK competing to be the best place to set up, locate and grow a business. So what is the plan for the UK to succeed against the EU, USA, India, China and others?
