Backup Copies

It can also be useful to keep multiple copies of your information. For example, if you backed up your files every day, instead of overwriting the previous nights copy you could keep that safe and create a brand new copy.

Consequently you might create a new copy each day, ending up at the end of the week with 5 separate days worth of backup records. The following Monday you could overwrite the previous Monday's copy starting the cycle again.

This way, if on Thursday you realised that you had overwritten a document from Monday you could go back to Monday's backup copy and restore the file. If you only keep one day's copy this would not be possible.
