XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) An open standard language for the electronic communication of business and financial data. XBRL allows tagging of information so that rather than simply being human readable text the information is machine readable and data can be extracted, allowing for simplification and automation of processes such as manual re-entry and information comparison.
