How can I tell if the quotes that I've received from designers are good value? Can someone advise me?

There are two distinct considerations to be made when assessing quotes from designers. They are:
  • Is the quote good value in the local designers' market place?
  • Will the money spent on the project have a good return-on-investment?

It is essential to compare quotes from different designers, and to make sure that the quotes are like-for-like comparisons. To this end, you should approach at least three designers, with a specific brief, and ask them to produce a proposal that answers that brief.

For a fuller explanation of this process, see Assessing the Value of Design .
