1. My vehicle has been damaged in a flood what claim can I make under my motor policy?
   
   A If you have a comprehensive policy you can make a claim. The severity of the water damage will determine how the claim is handled and whether your car can be repaired or is a total loss. Factors which the insurer will take into account are the depth of immersion and the contamination of the water.
   
   If you have third party only, or third party, fire and theft there is no cover in place and you will have to arrange and pay for any repairs you undertake.
